Pakistan’s rising batting all-rounder Maaz Sadaqat has joined defending champions Janakpur Bolts for the second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL), which continues until December 13.
The franchise confirmed the signing through its social media platforms, sharing a highlight reel of Maaz’s standout performances from the ACC Men’s Asia Cup Rising Stars Championship 2025, where he delivered one of the most dominant all-around campaigns of the tournament.
In a poetic announcement, the Bolts introduced the youngster with the caption:
The Emerging champion meets the Bolts storm. From the northern frontier where fire is forged and hunger never fades. Maaz Sadaqat steps in with energy, intent, and the spark to make his moment count.
Maaz was instrumental in Pakistan Shaheens’ title-winning run, earning the Player of the Tournament award for his consistency with both bat and ball. He topped the competition’s batting charts with 258 runs in five innings, averaging an extraordinary 129, and struck two unbeaten fifties.
His contributions did not stop there; Maaz Sadaqat also collected seven wickets, maintaining an excellent 7.42 average and 4.33 economy rate with the ball.
His most memorable outing came against India A in the group stage, where he combined tight bowling figures of 2/12 with a commanding unbeaten 79 off 47 balls to guide Pakistan Shaheens to a statement victory.
The Bolts announced his arrival at a crucial moment, as the reigning champions currently sit seventh on the NPL 2025 table, having lost their opening two fixtures. Maaz’s inclusion is expected to bolster the squad ahead of their next clash against Pokhara Avengers at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground, Kirtipur, on Thursday.
