Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi reviewed progress on several major development projects in Islamabad and directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to speed up construction.
Naqvi chaired a late-night meeting at the CDA headquarters after attending the Pakistan–Sri Lanka match in Rawalpindi. He then inspected three ongoing projects: the Shaheen Chowk expansion, the T-Chowk flyover, and the Faizabad Interchange improvements.
CDA officials briefed him that 80 percent of work on the T-Chowk flyover and 65 percent of work at Shaheen Chowk has been completed. They added that the Faizabad Interchange loop expansion is 70 percent complete.
Although the projects were originally scheduled to be finished between March and April, Naqvi said the pace of work should allow completion by the end of next month. He instructed the CDA to ensure the revised timeline is met.
During the visit, the minister also asked about the pending expansion of Margalla Avenue from GT Road to the Peshawar Motorway. He directed the CDA to initiate work on the remaining section.
