Renovation of Karachi Stadium Delayed Once Again

Bad news for cricket fans in Karachi as the planned renovation of the National Bank Stadium has hit a major delay. According to sources, the renovation work is now expected to begin once the Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) 2026 concludes.

Earlier in October, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced a detailed plan to modernize the historic venue and had initially targeted November to kick off the upgrade.

The project includes redesigning spectator enclosures to reflect Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium’s newly renovated look, along with initiatives to enhance the overall fan experience.

Karachi National Bank Stadium, Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, and the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium have already seen various upgrades as part of preparations for the ICC Champions Trophy 2024 held in Pakistan.

During the first phase of development, the Karachi venue underwent a significant transformation. A new cutting-edge pavilion was constructed, complemented by large digital screens, advanced LED floodlights, and additional seating capacity for fans.

The upgraded pavilion now features modern dressing rooms for teams and match officials, as well as improved hospitality and media areas that meet international standards set by the ICC.
