Pakistan’s U19 women’s cricket team opened their T20 series in impressive fashion, securing a hard-fought 13-run victory over Bangladesh U19 in the first match of the tour at Cox’s Bazar Academy Ground.
Batting first, Pakistan U19 were bowled out for 88 runs in 19.4 overs, with Eman top-scoring with a valuable 30 off 41 balls. Areesha added 22, while Ravail Farhan chipped in with 10.
Bangladesh’s bowlers kept the pressure on throughout, with Labonno starring for the hosts by taking 4 for 14, while Pinky and Farjana claimed two and one wickets respectively.
In reply, Bangladesh U19 fell short despite fighting knocks from Aritra (20 off 38), Sadia (16 off 20), and Boby (13 off 18). Pakistan’s disciplined bowling attack restricted the hosts to 75 runs in 19.5 overs, sealing the win.
Shahar Bano led the bowling effort with an excellent 3 for 27, supported by Rozina (2 for 5) and Mamoona Khalid (2 for 13).
With this 13-run win, Pakistan U19 take a 1–0 lead in the five-match series. The remaining matches will be played on December 5, 7, 9, and 12. The full series schedule for the national U19 women’s tour to Bangladesh is.
Both teams are expected to test their bench strength in the series while offering emerging players a chance to perform in competitive conditions.
