Punjab Announces New Policy for Unfit School and Hospital Buses

The Punjab Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has launched a strict crackdown on smoke-emitting heavy vehicles as part of the province’s intensified anti-smog campaign.

The agency has warned that old and unfit buses operated by educational institutions and public or private hospitals will no longer be allowed to remain on the roads.

Officials said enforcement teams will issue immediate fines to any heavy vehicle found emitting excessive smoke. They added that authorities may impound such vehicles on the spot to prevent further violations.
