The Punjab government has set up complaint cells across Lahore and the rest of the province to address public grievances related to overcharging, legal assistance, and misconduct by traffic wardens.
According to officials, each regional complaint cell will be supervised by a DSP-rank focal person, enabling citizens and transporters to file complaints regarding the behaviour of wardens.
The cells will also handle issues related to challans, driving licences, and other traffic police matters.
The initiative comes after amendments to the Motor Vehicle Ordinance, following a noticeable increase in complaints.
DIG Traffic Waqas Nazir said all focal persons will work under their respective DPOs and CPOs, and will assist citizens and transporters seeking legal guidance.
He added that complaints about wardens’ attitude, overcharging, and other violations can now be submitted directly at these cells.
He said focal persons will process genuine complaints and forward their reports to the head office for action.
