Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s son, Junaid Safdar, is reportedly preparing for a second marriage after a new match was finalised, 24NewsHD reported on Monday.
Sources said Junaid Safdar’s marriage has reportedly been arranged with the granddaughter of senior PML-N leader Sheikh Rohail Asghar.
The prospective bride is the daughter of Ali Rohail Asghar, marking a reported union between two influential political families.
According to insiders, PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif and the wider Sharif family have reportedly given their approval for the match.
A formal gathering between the Sharif and Rohail Asghar families has also reportedly taken place as part of the wedding preparations.
The wedding is expected to take place either in the last week of December or in January, though the final date has not yet been confirmed.
This will be Junaid Safdar’s second marriage. He was previously married to Ayesha Saif, daughter of former NAB chairman and Qatar-based businessman Saifur Rahman Khan.
The couple amicably divorced in October 2023. Their first wedding took place in 2021 at The Lanesborough in London’s Knightsbridge during Nawaz Sharif’s exile.
