The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has announced that the women’s national team has been officially approved to play in the FIFA Series for the first time, marking a historic moment for women’s football in the country.
According to the PFF, FIFA’s approval is a clear sign of recognition for the rapid progress women’s football has made in Pakistan in recent years.
The federation said this approval places Pakistan among a select group of national teams invited to join the global initiative, which aims to expand international exposure and competitive growth for emerging football nations.
The decision further opens a new chapter for the national women’s side, as players will now be able to take part in structured international fixtures under FIFA’s programme.
The PFF said this milestone reflects its continued commitment to improving the women’s game and strengthening Pakistan’s presence on the world football stage.
“This is a massive step forward for women’s football in Pakistan. Participation in the FIFA Series provides players international standards of competition, global visibility, and the chance to compete against teams from other continents,” the federation said.
PFF officials also said they plan to hold training camps and arrange friendly matches before the FIFA Series to prepare the team for top-level international competition.
The FIFA Women’s Series will be held in March and April 2026, with the opening events scheduled in Brazil, Ivory Coast and Thailand.
The PFF said the groupings and complete schedule for the women’s FIFA Series are expected to be released in early 2026.
