Another Province Launches Pink Bus Service for Women

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti inaugurated the province’s first Pink Bus Service in Quetta on Wednesday, calling it a major step toward providing safe and dignified public transport for women.

He said the launch builds on recent initiatives such as the Pink Scooties program and reflects the government’s commitment to women’s empowerment.

Addressing the ceremony, CM Bugti praised the performance of women deputy commissioners across various districts and said their work proves that women can lead administrative responsibilities with equal efficiency.

He stated that the new service, along with scholarships and other development measures, aims to expand opportunities for women in every field.

CM Bugti also issued a strong statement against groups he described as “extremist elements,” accusing them of misleading Baloch women and pushing them toward destructive paths. He said the government wants Baloch women to pursue education, development, and global opportunities instead.

He announced that the Green Bus Service will expand to Pishin, Mastung, and Turbat. He added that the government is working to introduce electric buses to address public transport needs and reduce environmental pollution.

Referring to the Quetta–Sariab Peoples Train Project, he said the initiative will provide essential convenience to local residents.
