PIA Clarifies Reports of Entire Crew Going Missing in Canada

Pakistan International Airlines on Sunday rejected claims circulating on social media that the entire crew of a PIA flight went missing in Toronto, calling the reports false and misleading.

In a statement shared on X, the national flag carrier said a tweet alleging the disappearance of a full flight crew had no factual basis and aimed to damage the airline’s reputation. PIA stated that no such incident occurred and described the claims as fabricated content spread with malicious intent.

A PIA spokesperson separately dismissed the reports and said certain hostile social media accounts were responsible for spreading the false narrative. The spokesperson maintained that the airline continues to operate its flights normally and that all crew members remain accounted for.

The clarification comes amid past isolated cases in which individual PIA crew members reportedly failed to return from overseas destinations. In one such incident last month, a flight attendant did not report for duty on a Toronto-to-Lahore flight, prompting an internal inquiry.

At the time, PIA said the employee cited health reasons and warned that disciplinary action would follow if the absence proved unlawful.
