Pakistan’s star batter Babar Azam continues to struggle in Australia as he was dismissed with another low score in the ongoing 2025/26 Big Bash League (BBL 15), failing to make an impact for the Sydney Sixers.
After managing just two runs on his BBL debut against the Perth Scorchers, Babar was dismissed for nine off 10 balls in the Sixers’ clash with the Adelaide Strikers at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
Babar Azam showed brief promise with a single boundary but otherwise looked uncomfortable at the crease, once again finding it difficult to adjust to Australian pace and bounce. His short stay ended when he attempted a lofted stroke off Luke Wood, only to pick out Matthew Short.
The early dismissal triggered visible frustration among fans, many of whom had hoped the former Pakistan captain would bounce back after his disappointing debut outing.
Babar Azam isn’t the only Pakistani star struggling in the BBL. His fellow teammates, Mohammad Rizwan and Shaheen Afridi, had abysmal debuts as well. The only Pakistani player to make an impact for the star all-rounder Shadab Khan.
With pressure mounting on Babar to deliver, attention now shifts to fellow Pakistani international Hasan Ali, who is part of the Adelaide Strikers squad. Supporters will be hoping Hasan can make a stronger impression with either bat or ball as the tournament progresses.
