Quetta Gladiators’ Head of Talent Acquisition and Digital Media, Nabeel Hashmi, has claimed that several England cricketers are unlikely to participate in the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) due to red-ball central contracts with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).
Reports indicate that the ECB will not issue No-Objection Certificates (NOCs) to centrally contracted red-ball players for PSL 11.
The board has prioritized the County Championship and England’s home Test summer, which features a three-match series against New Zealand in June 2026. While participation in the IPL remains an exception, players who skip or remain unsold in the IPL are expected to rest rather than join other overseas T20 leagues.
England Players Likely to Miss PSL 11
Under the current ECB contract framework, the following England players are expected to miss PSL 11:
| Ben Stokes | Harry Brook | Mark Wood |
| Jamie Smith | Gus Atkinson | Rehan Ahmed |
| Saqib Mahmood | Ollie Robinson | Matthew Potts |
| Brydon Carse | Zak Crawley | Joe Root |
This development limits the availability of some of England’s top talents for Pakistan’s premier T20 league, affecting the overseas player pool ahead of the draft.
Most of the England players are currently in Australia as part of the 2025/26 Ashes squad, with the third Test between the two sides underway.
