Robbers looted a man named Shehbaz Sharif in Sadiqabad, police said on Wednesday. According to ARY News, the incident occurred in the Kacha Razi area, where armed suspects intercepted the victim and fled after snatching his motorcycle, mobile phone, and cash.
The individual involved is an ordinary citizen and not Pakistan’s Prime Minister, and the similarity in name is purely coincidental.
It is also clarified that the complainant, Muhammad Sharif, is the victim’s father and not the father of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif or Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, despite sharing the same name.
Police registered a case at the relevant police station on the complaint of the victim’s father and have initiated an investigation into the matter. Statements are being recorded, and evidence is being collected as part of the probe.
Raids are underway to trace and arrest the suspects involved in the robbery, police said.
