Syeda Amnah Batool, a Member of the National Assembly (MNA), has been appointed to FIFA’s prestigious Institutional Reforms Committee, marking a historic milestone for Pakistan in sports governance.
An official statement issued on Thursday confirmed that Syeda Amnah Batool is currently the only Pakistani serving on any FIFA committee.
Her appointment reflects FIFA’s renewed confidence in Pakistan’s institutional direction and its constructive role in global football governance.
This development is widely seen as the result of the government’s continued efforts to promote football and strengthen sports institutions across the country. The government has also reaffirmed its commitment to developing football as a merit-based sport.
In this context, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recently met with the President and Vice President of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), where he emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening the football federation and hosting international football events.
The FIFA President has praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s commitment to promoting football in Pakistan. Future cooperation between Pakistan and FIFA will follow an organized, practical, and partnership-focused approach.
Syeda Amnah Batool’s role on the committee will focus on strengthening institutional reforms and improving governance systems within global football.
