Xiaomi 17 Ultra Launch is Much Closer Than You Think

Xiaomi has confirmed the launch timeframe for its next flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, following weeks of speculation. While the company stopped short of announcing a specific date, it said the device will be unveiled in China next week, partially validating earlier rumors of a late December launch.

Xiaomi said the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will debut in China next week. Earlier reports had pointed to a December 26 announcement, but the company has not confirmed an exact day.

The brand also confirmed that it will continue its collaboration with Leica for the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. According to Xiaomi’s announcement, the phone will bring improvements to telephoto photography and low-light image quality.

Global Launch Hints

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra has recently appeared in FCC certification listings. This development suggests that the device could see an international release following its China debut. While Xiaomi has not shared global launch plans, FCC approval typically indicates preparations for wider market availability.

Leaks and certification related reports suggest the phone may feature a primary camera with a 1-inch type image sensor. This larger sensor is expected to improve light capture, dynamic range, and low light performance, though Xiaomi has not officially confirmed the sensor details.

Expected Hardware and Connectivity

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is rumored to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, which is Qualcomm’s strongest smartphone procesor yet.

Leaks also suggest the phone could include a large battery approaching 7,000 mAh, along with fast wired charging and possibly wireless charging. These details have not been confirmed by Xiaomi.

According to FCC filings, the device is expected to support modern connectivity standards, including 5G, Wi Fi 7, and Bluetooth Low Energy. Reports also indicate possible Ultra Wideband support, which could enable more precise device location and ecosystem features.
