Sheikh Faisal Nouman, a long-serving muazzin of the holy Masjid an-Nabawi, has passed away. His funeral prayer (Namaz-e-Janaza) was offered after Fajr at Masjid an-Nabawi on Tuesday, 3 Rajab 1447 (23 December).
He is reported to have been buried in the historic Baqi al-Gharqad cemetery, the resting place of many of the Prophet’s (PBUH) family members and companions.
The Saudi Arabia–based platform “Inside the Haramain,” which reports on developments related to the Two Holy Mosques, confirmed his death through a social media announcement.
Sheikh Faisal Nouman had been associated with Masjid an-Nabawi for many years in his capacity as a muazzin. His soulful and melodious adhan, coupled with his evident devotion, left a deep spiritual imprint on countless worshippers who heard his call to prayer, both in person and through broadcasts worldwide.
Religious scholars, regular worshippers, and Muslims from various parts of the world have expressed profound grief at his passing. Many have described his death as a loss for the Muslim Ummah, remembering him as a sincere and humble servant of the sacred mosque, and have prayed for Allah’s mercy and forgiveness for his departed soul.
