The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has made provisional registration mandatory for foreign medical graduates before they can start their house job.
According to PMDC, no foreign medical graduate is allowed to undertake a house job without provisional registration.
The council has directed that any house job being carried out without provisional registration must be stopped immediately.
PMDC has issued an official notification to all public and private medical colleges and hospitals across the country, instructing them to strictly comply with this requirement.
The directive applies only to graduates from PMDC-recognised foreign medical universities.
Graduates from non-recognised institutions will be required to pass the National Registration Examination (NRE) in order to obtain provisional registration and become eligible for a house job in Pakistan.
