Sindh Shares Good News About E-Challan Fines

The Sindh government has reportedly agreed to review and reduce heavy e-challan fines in Karachi following discussions in the Sindh Assembly’s special committee on electronic traffic challans.

Sources said a meeting of the Sindh Assembly’s special committee on e-challans took place in Karachi, where the issue of high penalties was discussed. The meeting was chaired by Sindh Interior Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar and attended by members of the committee.

According to sources, the government agreed to lower fines for motorcycles after opposition leader Ali Khurshidi raised the matter. Sources added that the government has also agreed in principle to reduce fines for vehicles with engine capacity up to 1,000cc.

During the meeting, Ali Khurshidi stated that the opposition was not against the e-challan system itself but was seeking a reduction in what he described as excessively high penalties.
