Major Progress Made on Rs. 3.8 Billion Underpass in Karachi

Karachi Commissioner Hassan Naqvi has been informed that the Kareemabad underpass project can be completed within one month after the relocation of K-Electric lines.

The commissioner visited the project site late Tuesday to review construction progress. Officials briefed him that around 85 percent of the work has already been completed.

According to the briefing, the remaining work depends on shifting K-Electric utility lines from the site. Once the relocation is completed, authorities expect to finish the project within 30 days.

To resolve the issue, Commissioner Naqvi has called a meeting with K-Electric management on Wednesday to address the delays related to the utility shift. He also directed the Deputy Commissioner Central to instruct concerned officers to speed up the remaining work.

The commissioner emphasized that all obstacles must be removed to ensure early completion of the project. He noted that delays are disrupting traffic flow in the area and are also negatively affecting nearby businesses.
