Samsung announced that it will bring Google Photos to its smart TVs, marking the first time Google Photos will be available as a native app on any TV platform. Google Photos is currently not even offered as a dedicated app on Google’s own Android TV platform.
Google Photos on Samsung TVs will roll out in three feature tiers starting in early 2026. The first feature to arrive will be Memories, which Samsung says will display curated stories based on people, locations, and meaningful moments. According to Samsung’s press release, Memories will be exclusive to eligible Samsung TVs beginning in March.
Later in 2026, Samsung TV users will gain access to Nano Banana through the Create with AI feature. This tool will allow users to apply themed templates and AI-based edits to existing photos, while also bringing the Google Photos Remix tool directly to the TV screen.
The third feature, Personalized Results, is also scheduled to launch later in 2026. This feature will generate curated photo slideshows based on specific topics or selected memories.
Samsung has also confirmed that Google Photos will be integrated with its Vision AI Companion, enabling Google Photos features to work in conjunction with Samsung’s broader AI-driven TV experience.
Samsung has not yet shared a full list of supported TV models or regions, but more details will be announced closer to the rollout.
