Murree police have finalized a coordinated traffic plan for New Year’s night and canceled all leaves for traffic wardens.
A police spokesperson said authorities have canceled the leaves of all traffic wardens and officers in Murree. The police have formed special squads of traffic wardens and officers to facilitate the public and ensure compliance with traffic rules across Murree.
Under the traffic plan, authorities will completely close Mall Road to all types of traffic. Police will take legal action against underage drivers, motorcycle riders without helmets, and vehicles without number plates.
Murree Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Imran Razaq said authorities will impose a complete ban on motorcyclists. Police will take strict action against one-wheeling and motorcyclists using vehicles without silencers.
He said police will also take strict action against vehicles with black windows or tinted papers to prevent any untoward incident. The City Traffic Police Murree are making all efforts to provide maximum facilities to the public and tourists.
The CTO urged the public to follow the instructions of traffic wardens deployed at various points and to observe road signboards, saying they play an important role in ensuring safety and smooth traffic flow.
