The National Information Technology Board’s (NITB) Apostille Automated Attestation System has attested 633,877 documents, marking a significant shift toward digital and automated document authentication in Pakistan.
The system has been introduced to provide faster, secure, and fraud-resistant verification of documents required for international use.
According to official data, the digital platform has facilitated 255,835 citizens. Documents attested through the system are now recognized by 120 countries, strengthening Pakistan’s global documentation credibility by replacing manual attestation processes with a fully digital mechanism.
Personal documents account for the largest share of attestations, with 476,899 documents processed through the system. Educational documents follow with 147,390 attestations, reflecting strong demand from students and professionals seeking education and employment opportunities abroad.
The system has also processed 5,582 legal documents and 2,936 commercial documents, supporting international legal and business requirements. In addition, 917 experience certificates and 153 power of attorney documents have been attested, further expanding the scope of the digital service.
Officials said the Apostille Automated Attestation System has improved efficiency, transparency, and security in document verification. The initiative is part of broader efforts to digitize public services and align Pakistan’s documentation processes with international standards.
