The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) Rawalpindi Division carried out a large-scale inspection at the Kallar Kahar service area on the Lahore–Islamabad Motorway (M2) on Monday and fined three food outlets for violating food safety rules.
Inspection teams examined six outlets during the operation, which the Additional Director General oversaw. The teams reviewed hygiene conditions, food quality, and compliance with safety standards.
Officials identified serious violations at three outlets and imposed fines totaling Rs175,000. Authorities penalized the businesses for storing expired food items, using China salt, and selling milk that failed to meet safety standards.
The PFA said it remains committed to ensuring the availability of safe and hygienic food for travelers at motorway service areas and will not allow any compromise on public health.
Inspectors issued on-the-spot penalties and gave strict directions to food business operators to address the violations immediately.
The PFA also encouraged the public to report complaints about unhygienic or unsafe food by calling its helpline at 1223, allowing authorities to respond promptly.

PFA is doing good but it should also take actions against the pricing of foods as on all motorways every thing is very very expensive even an ecenomical person can’t think of purchasing of any food, instad of any a severe need.
Why you did not disclose the name of those restrurants
Why shy of naming the Outlets ???
It’s frustrating when authorities take action but do not disclose the business who is being fined. As citizens its our right to know identity of these business so that we can be careful when visiting
Agreed with you 💯
Nice effort by Punjab food authority
By not naming the outlets, it would seem they have been bribed. Very unprofessional.
They can’t compromise on food but they can on putting FIR’s on a Civil Infraction. They defended high challans by saying people don’t take them seriously. How much serious you want them to be if there were not scared by you you would have seen disasters killing of government officials in Pakistan
Good job done. In my opinion such food outlets should be named and shamed. That will be in the interest of the public to be aware of them and will have impact on their sale.
If names are not given, then what could be the reason to give such news. It looks strange…
