Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan on Wednesday announced that the Karachi–Quetta–Chaman Highway (N-25) will be completed within two years and constructed according to international standards, reaffirming the government’s commitment to improving infrastructure and connectivity in Balochistan.
Speaking during a meeting with former Senate chairman and Balochistan MPA Mir Muhammad Sadiq Khan Sanjrani in Islamabad, the minister said the government has directed the National Highway Authority (NHA) to begin work at the earliest on the Dalbandin–Chaghi Road.
Aleem Khan said the development of Balochistan remains a top government priority, adding that a comprehensive road network will be laid across the province to support economic growth.
He revealed that the NHA is working on a special road development package for Balochistan, noting that as Pakistan’s largest province by area, it requires a modern road network to promote trade and tourism with Afghanistan, Iran, and other neighbouring countries.
The minister said he is personally overseeing NHA performance in the province to ensure timely completion and quality standards.
During the meeting, Mir Muhammad Sadiq Khan Sanjrani welcomed the NHA’s special initiatives, calling them a valuable gift for the people of Balochistan. He said the projects would improve transportation, ease travel difficulties, and boost regional connectivity.
