Provincial Education Minister Rana Sikandar announced that the government has decided to include students from private educational institutions in the laptop scheme, under which 10,000 laptops will be distributed.
He said the competent authority has approved the decision and the distribution will take place within the year. The minister added that the education development budget has been increased to Rs. 110 billion.
Rana Sikandar stated that the government upgraded 268 schools during 2025 and issued decisions in 37 cases related to teacher harassment. He said the government also launched the Teacher Takreem Awards for the first time.
The minister further said work has begun on establishing Centres of Excellence in 10 districts, along with the development of 300 Schools of Eminence across the province.
