Pakistan Railways has increased tuition fees for schools operating under its education system, with the revised rates now in effect, 24News reported.
The decision affects children of railway employees as well as non-railway students enrolled in these institutions nationwide.
Under the new structure, the monthly fee for children of railway employees in Grades 1 to 10 has risen from Rs. 700 to Rs. 900. For wards of employees and officers in Grades 11 to 22, the fee has increased from Rs. 800 to Rs. 1,000.
The department has also raised fees for non-railway students. Their monthly tuition has gone up from Rs. 1,300 to Rs. 1,500.
In Samasatta and Khanewal, non-railway students will now pay Rs. 1,200, compared with the previous fee of Rs. 1,000.
Railway-run schools in Sukkur and Rohri have similarly increased fees for non-employee students from Rs. 850 to Rs. 1,050.
Railway officials confirmed that these revised charges have been implemented immediately.
