Pakistan Railways Upgrades Another Passenger Train

Pakistan Railways has launched another upgraded passenger train on the Lahore–Narowal route as part of its ongoing service improvement drive.

During the inauguration, officials offered prayers for the progress of Pakistan Railways and decorated the train with colorful garlands. The Divisional Superintendent inspected various coaches and interacted with passengers to seek feedback on onboard facilities.

The Narowal Passenger Train departed Lahore Railway Station on schedule at 7:15 am. The train travels via Badami Bagh, Shahdara Bagh, Kala Khatai, Narang, Baddomalhi, Raya Khas, and Pejowali, reaching Narowal at 10:05 am.

On the return journey, the train departs Narowal at 5:00 pm and arrives back in Lahore at 7:40 pm, stopping at the same stations. The travel time between Lahore and Narowal has been set at two hours and 40 minutes for passenger convenience.

Pakistan Railways has equipped the Narowal Passenger Train with improved cleanliness, lighting, and other travel facilities. The service operates with 10 passenger coaches.

  • Pakistan has least improvement in the railways after independence in the Sub Continent

  • Govts priority should be freight trains. It’s cheaper to haul loads with a few engines instead of trucking. Imagine the fuel used with thousands of trucks moving up/down country. Trains economically viable by freight. Passenger trains are bonus. Worldwide practice.
