Pakistan Vs Sri Lanka T20I Series Under Threat Due to Serious Weather Conditions

Heavy rain has hit Dambulla in the last 24 hours, creating uncertainty ahead of the three-match T20I series between Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

Heavy rainfall has affected Dambulla over the past 24 hours, raising concerns ahead of the upcoming three-match T20 International series between Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

Weather forecasts suggest that conditions may worsen in the coming days, with more heavy showers expected. As a result, matches scheduled at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium could face delays or interruptions.

The three-match T20I series is scheduled to be played on January 7, 9, and 11.

The Pakistan team reached Sri Lanka ahead of the series. Team captain Salman Ali Agha is scheduled to address the media today at 4:00 p.m. local time, while the national team will hold a practice session at 8:00 p.m. local time.

The series will also serve as an important preparatory phase for both teams ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8.

The two teams last met in the T20I format during the Pakistan-hosted tri-nation series in November, which also featured Zimbabwe. Pakistan won the tournament by defeating Sri Lanka in the final.
