Lahore to Introduce Islamabad-Like Requirement for Vehicles

Lahore Police have prepared recommendations and forwarded them to the Home Department for the introduction of an E-Tag system in the city.

Under this system, complete vehicle records will be available online, helping improve urban security and traffic management.

The E-Tag will be an electronic chip installed on vehicle number plates, enabling instant identification of stolen vehicles and helping eliminate fake number plates.

The system will also facilitate action against unregistered vehicles and allow effective monitoring of vehicles entering and exiting the city.
