The District Education Authority (DEA) Lahore has proposed celebrating Basant festival on government school rooftops. The authority has completed data mapping of rooftops with concrete surfaces suitable for kite flying.
Zonal heads have been directed to compile a complete list of all concrete rooftops within two days. Once the data is collected, the rooftops will be rented out for safe kite-flying celebrations.
Officials said the decision will allow school students to participate in Basant festivities, marking the city’s first organized Basant celebration in 20 years.
