Karachi recorded the coldest night of the current winter season as icy winds from Balochistan pushed the minimum temperature down to 9.3 degrees Celsius.

According to the Meteorological Department, temperatures remained around 11 degrees Celsius until 10 a.m. The maximum temperature today is expected to range between 22°C and 23°C.

The department further reported that the humidity level is 43 percent, while cold, dry northeasterly winds are blowing at a speed of 7 kilometers per hour.

The Met Office said temperatures could drop into single digits over the weekend, particularly on Saturday and Sunday.

Meanwhile, cold and dry weather is expected to prevail across most parts of the country during the next twelve hours, with very cold conditions in hilly areas.

In addition, moderate to dense fog is likely to persist over Punjab, upper Sindh, and the plain areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while frost may occur at isolated locations in the Potohar region and Kashmir during the morning hours.
