Kyrgyzstan Tightens Visa-Free Stay Rules for 55 Countries

Kyrgyzstan has officially revised its visa-free entry rules, reducing the length of stay for travelers from 55 countries, including the US, UK, EU states, and several Asian-Pacific nations.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the new regulations took effect on December 31, 2025, pursuant to Resolution No. 855.

Under the updated policy, eligible foreign nationals can now stay in Kyrgyzstan visa-free for up to 30 days within any 60 days.

Previously, travelers could remain in the country for 60 days within 120 days without a visa or registration. Authorities say the revised framework aims to simplify migration rules, prevent overstays, and improve enforcement.

The new restriction applies to visitors from countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Japan, EU member states, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam, among others.

Travelers exceeding the permitted stay must exit the country or obtain a valid visa, residence permit, or temporary authorization.

However, different visa-free arrangements remain in place for several groups. Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) nationals from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia can stay 90 days within 180 days, while citizens of Turkey, Serbia, Ukraine, and Mongolia enjoy similar privileges.

Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nationals can stay up to 180 days within 360 days without a visa.

For visitors planning longer stays, Kyrgyzstan continues to offer an e-Visa system, allowing tourists, business travelers, and long-term visitors to apply online.

Authorities have urged travelers to carefully track their stay duration, warning that overstays may result in fines or future entry restrictions.
