KP to Auction Unique Number Plates

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Excise Department has decided to issue specialised and unique vehicle number plates.

According to the department, the auction for these special number plates will be held on 27 January in Peshawar. The number plates will be auctioned under the names of various tribes, well-known families, and regions.

The department stated that the number plates will carry tribal names such as Wazir 1, Mehsud 1, Khattak 1, and Mohmand 1.

In addition, plates named Khan, Gandapur, Durrani, Kundi, Swati, Arbab, Khalil, Afridi, and Yousafzai 1 will also be auctioned.

Special number plates named after regions, including Malakand, Abbottabad, Kohat, and Bannu, will also be issued.

The Excise Department has set the base bidding price at Rs. 1 million for each unique number plate. Individuals interested in participating in the auction will be required to submit Rs. 100,000 as bid security.

The department has clarified that if the successful bidder fails to pay the full amount within the specified time, the bid security will be forfeited.

Excise officials said the initiative aims to offer distinctive and exclusive number plates in the province while also encouraging modernization and the adoption of advanced systems in public services.
