Multan Sultans Expected Base Price Revealed

Multan Sultans’ expected base price for a fresh sale is likely to be set at Rs. 160 crore or higher, with the Pakistan Super League (PSL) management confident the franchise could fetch more than Rs. 200 crore in the auction process.

The development comes as the PSL’s Governing Council continues work on key decisions ahead of PSL 11, including franchise matters and changes to the player recruitment framework.

These issues were discussed during a meeting of the PSL Governing Council held on Friday at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore. The session was chaired by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and attended by representatives of all eight franchises, along with senior officials from the PCB and PSL management.

According to details shared from the meeting, the council began by welcoming the new owners of the Hyderabad and Sialkot franchises, while also commending the successful completion of the new teams auction, describing it as an important step in the league’s expansion.

Much of the discussion focused on player retentions and the proposed hybrid recruitment model being termed a “drauction,” a blend of an auction and a draft, alongside the possibility of allowing direct player signings. The council also reviewed the schedule planning for the upcoming season.

During the meeting, officials confirmed that PSL 11 will start on Thursday, March 26, positioning the new season as part of what the league has called a “new era.”

The meeting ended with the formation of a working group, which is set to reconvene on Saturday to further examine unresolved agenda items. The Governing Council is expected to meet again after receiving the group’s recommendations.
