Islamabad has expanded its M-Tag registration facilities as part of the citywide drive to tag all vehicles.
The new center at N-5 Margalla, announced by the Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad, brings the total number of M-Tag registration centers in the capital to 18. Drivers are being urged to register their vehicles immediately, as authorities continue to stop vehicles without M-Tags at multiple checkpoints across the city.

Director General of Excise, Irfan Memon, emphasized that all vehicles must be M-Tagged to ensure smooth traffic management and compliance with federal regulations. “Citizens are encouraged to use the available centers without delay to avoid penalties and interruptions while traveling,” he said.
As of January 18, the Islamabad Capital Territory administration reported that 166,888 vehicles have received M-Tags, including 3,130 in the previous 24 hours alone. Checkpoints, readers, and service centers remain active to identify and stop vehicles that have yet to be tagged.
