Heavy snowfall has forced authorities to restrict movement on the Islamabad–Murree Expressway (N-75), with officials temporarily stopping general traffic from entering the route toward Murree.
In an alert shared by the National Highways and Motorway Police, the district administration said the entry point at Phoolgaran Toll Plaza has been closed for regular vehicles due to worsening road conditions caused by intense snow.
However, the road is still open for local residents and emergency services, as authorities continue to manage the situation.
Officials urged people to avoid unnecessary travel, warning that snowfall can quickly make roads slippery, reduce visibility, and increase the risk of accidents—especially on hilly stretches.
The closure comes amid broader winter weather activity in the region.
Recent forecasts have also indicated that Murree and surrounding areas could see an extended spell of snow, raising the likelihood of intermittent road blockages and travel disruptions during peak hours and at night, according to a weather outlook shared earlier this month.
Authorities have advised travelers to keep vehicles winter-ready, follow official instructions, and postpone trips until conditions improve.
