A viral image circulating on social media has sparked fresh speculation that Sialkot Stallionz have appointed Shahid Afridi as the franchise’s mentor ahead of 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11).
However, the claim is not true, and the photo being shared is being taken out of context.
The picture that triggered the rumors is not linked to Sialkot Stallionz or the PSL. Instead, it is an old photo of Afridi signing an agreement with OZ Developers as a brand ambassador.
The image itself references an MOU signing ceremony dated 10-5-2024, and it explicitly labels Afridi as “Ambassador OZ Developers,” making it clear that it has no connection to any mentor announcement for the new PSL franchise.
Sialkot Stallionz, one of the newly formed teams set to feature in PSL 11, have been in the spotlight since their team name was revealed, and fans are closely watching for key off-field appointments as the debut season approaches. That attention likely amplified the rumor once the old photo began trending again.
As of now, there has been no official announcement confirming Shahid Afridi as mentor for Sialkot Stallionz. Any reports suggesting he has signed with the franchise appear to be based solely on the resurfaced image rather than a verified statement.
PSL 11 is scheduled to run from March 26 to May 3, and further updates regarding team staff and management are expected closer to the season.
