Punjab Police have dismissed all allegations of fake encounters against the Counter Crime Department (CCD), according to a report submitted to the Lahore High Court.
The police said the claims circulating on social media are unfounded.
The report highlights that since the CCD’s establishment, crimes including robbery, theft, and murder have significantly decreased.
In seven months, property-related crimes dropped by 64%, while robbery and murder incidents fell by 60%. Robbery cases fell from 792 in 2024 to 324 in 2025, marking a 69% decline.
Other notable reductions include street crimes, which dropped from 41,000 to 18,608 (62%), vehicle snatching by 64%, car theft by 60%, and motorcycle theft from 9,754 to 4,628 (53%).
Cases involving robbery with murder also declined from 170 to 96.
The police report noted that CCD operations have resulted in one sub-inspector being martyred and 96 personnel injured.
Authorities emphasized that CCD targets all criminal elements without discrimination, ensures arrests, conducts transparent investigations, and prosecutes cases in accordance with legal requirements.
