The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE), Islamabad, under the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, has launched a full-time, regular Career Counselling Program for students of FDE schools and colleges.
The two-year initiative aims to guide students from elementary to BS level in making informed academic and career decisions through a consortium of relevant professional firms.
Federal Secretary for Education Nadeem Mahbub visited an ongoing counselling session at the Islamabad Model College for Girls (IMCG), F-6/2.
Senior FDE officials, including Director General Syed Junaid Akhlaq and Director Academics Riffat Jabeen, were also present.
Under the program, students will receive psychometric aptitude assessments, individualized career guidance, and information on higher education opportunities, entry tests, technical and vocational education pathways, industry linkages, and parent awareness sessions.
A major component of the initiative is the development of standardized counselling content and a data-driven dashboard, which will support evidence-based decision-making and help integrate career counselling services across FDE institutions.
Officials said the program reflects FDE’s commitment to equipping students with the knowledge and guidance needed to pursue diverse academic, technical, and professional career paths.
