Pakistan continued their strong run at the SAFF Futsal Championship 2026 with a convincing 5–1 victory over Bangladesh, marking their third win of the tournament.
The championship is being held under the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) in Bangkok, Thailand.
Pakistan took control of the match early on, with Ali Agha opening the scoring in the 18th minute and Zahid doubling the lead in the 31st. Bangladesh briefly fought back when Fayed Azim pulled one back in the 36th minute, but Pakistan quickly regained momentum.
Salar Ahmed Khan restored the two-goal cushion a minute later, Ahid Ullah added another in the 40th, and Ali Agha sealed the victory with his second goal just before the final whistle.
This win, Pakistan’s fifth match of the competition, lifted them to second place on the points table with 10 points. After five games, they have recorded three wins, one draw, and one loss, scoring 19 goals and conceding 16.
Pakistan’s campaign began with a 7–1 defeat to the Maldives, but they bounced back impressively. They beat Bhutan 4–2 in their second match and Sri Lanka 5–2 in the third. A thrilling 4–4 draw with Nepal followed before their emphatic triumph over Bangladesh.
Ranked 138th in the FIFA world rankings, Pakistan outclassed Bangladesh, who sit just one place below them, with a commanding display.
Pakistan will play their sixth and final group match on Monday against traditional rivals India, a fixture expected to be decisive for their final standing in the tournament.
