Pakistani Students Develop Device That Converts Fog Into Electricity

Students from the Girls Section of TABS College of Science, Hyderabad, won the ninth cycle of Enterprise Challenge Pakistan for their project Nebulavolt, a fog to electricity safety device developed for fog prone regions.

The project uses a hydrophilic mesh to capture fog and converts the energy from water droplets into clean electricity through triboelectric nanogenerators.

The low cost technology can be used to power streetlights, traffic signals and roadside infrastructure, improving visibility, reducing road accidents and cutting energy costs.
