PCB Warns Players and Agents Over Secret Deals Ahead of PSL 11 Auction

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced strict measures to curb underhand financial dealings involving players, agents, and franchises, as the Pakistan Super League (PSL) prepares to enter a new auction-based era.

The board said that if a player or their agent is found involved in secret payments or undisclosed agreements that do not reflect a player’s true market value, disciplinary action will follow, including possible bans. Franchises linked to such practices will also face financial penalties.

The warning comes ahead of the PSL 11 player auction, set to take place on February 11, following the PCB’s decision to replace the long-running draft system with an open auction model.

The board believes the auction format will allow players to earn closer to their real worth while creating a more transparent and competitive recruitment process.

According to the PCB, all payments and contractual arrangements must be handled through official channels. Any attempt to bypass the system, including side agreements between players, agents, or franchises, will be treated as a serious breach of regulations.

The PCB said the move is aimed at protecting the credibility of the league, ensuring fair competition among franchises, and maintaining trust in the player contracting process as the PSL expands to eight teams in the upcoming season.
