IT Ministry Begins Bid Review for Indus AI Week 2026

The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication has launched a formal bid evaluation process for Indus AI Week 2026, scheduled to be held from February 8 to February 15, to ensure transparency and financial compliance in the execution of the event.

According to officials, the ministry will appoint an independent consultant from a pool of prequalified firms to evaluate bids and related expenditures for the week-long technology event. The evaluation will cover firms engaged for event management, media, communications, and other operational activities.

The consultant will assess the completeness and compliance of technical and financial proposals submitted by bidding firms and ensure the reasonability of their financial submissions. Officials said the exercise is aimed at strengthening oversight of the contracting process and ensuring that selected firms meet defined criteria.

The review will include bids submitted to the ministry and its allied organizations, including the Pakistan Software Export Board and Ignite R&D Fund. Any deviations, gaps, or inconsistencies identified during the evaluation will be flagged before contracts are finalized.

Following the conclusion of Indus AI Week, the consultant will also conduct a post-event review of expenditures incurred by the successful bidders. This review will assess whether spending aligns with approved budgets and identify any unusual or non-compliant items for the ministry’s consideration.

The assignment will span one month, beginning with bid assessment and financial reasonability checks, followed by post-event expense validation. Officials said the findings will form the basis for decisions related to compliance and financial accountability.

The ministry said the evaluation process is part of broader efforts to reinforce governance, transparency, and accountability in the execution of major technology initiatives, while ensuring that Indus AI Week meets its strategic objectives within approved financial and operational frameworks.
