Speaking at a press conference after the third and final T20 match against Australia in Lahore, Salman Ali Agha said, “This is not our decision and we can’t do anything about it, but we will do as we are told by our government and the chairman PCB.”

The captain emphasized that the players will continue to focus on their performance and represent Pakistan to the best of their abilities in the remaining matches of the tournament.

Earlier, the federal government announced that while Pakistan will participate in the ICC World T20 2026, the team will skip the match scheduled against India on February 15, 2026.
