A domestic dispute in Multan turned violent after a woman checked her husband’s WhatsApp, and he tortured and beat her, leaving her seriously injured.
Police said the incident took place in the Qadirabad area. The husband became furious when he found out his wife had checked his WhatsApp, after which he subjected her to severe violence.
The woman suffered serious injuries and was shifted to a hospital for medical treatment.
Police confirmed that a case has been registered at the Women Police Station on the woman’s complaint, and legal action is underway.
In other news, the Supreme Court has ruled that a husband must pay the haq mehr exactly as written in the nikahnama, including all listed items.
The court stressed that once a marriage contract is signed, its conditions become binding, and courts cannot alter such personal agreements. Several petitions linked to dowry and haq mehr disputes were dismissed during the hearing.
