The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced a public holiday across the province on February 5 to mark Kashmir Solidarity Day.
According to an official statement issued by the Additional Chief Secretary (General), the province will also observe one minute of silence at 10:00 am on the day. The government said various activities and programs will be held across KP to express solidarity with Kashmiris.
All provincial government offices under KP’s administrative control will remain closed, including autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies, government corporations, and public and semi-public educational institutions.
The announcement follows a similar decision by the federal government, which has also declared February 5, 2026 as a nationwide public holiday for Kashmir Solidarity Day.
In other news, the Pakistan Stock Exchange announced it will remain closed on Thursday, February 5, 2026, as the day has been declared a public holiday for Kashmir Solidarity Day.
In a circular issued to market participants, the exchange notified TRE certificate holders and staff that trading and related operations will not take place on that date.
