Quetta Gladiators have confirmed the retention prices for their four protected players ahead of the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) auction.
The franchise retained Abrar Ahmed in the Platinum category for Rs. 7 crore, Usman Tariq in Diamond for Rs. 5.6 crore, Hassan Nawaz in Gold for Rs. 3.92 crore, and Shamyl Hussain in the Emerging category for Rs. 84 lac.
These retentions were finalized from a larger pool of 14 Quetta Gladiators players who were placed across categories before the retention deadline. The Platinum list included Faheem Ashraf, Mohammad Amir, and Abrar Ahmed, while the Diamond category featured Saud Shakeel, Mohammad Wasim Jr, and Usman Tariq.
Quetta’s Gold category consisted of Khurram Shahzad, Haseebullah Khan, Khawaja Mohammad Nafay, Hassan Nawaz, and Danish Aziz. Ali Majid was listed in the Silver category, while Mohammad Zeeshan and Shamyl Hussain were placed in Emerging.
From the available options, the Gladiators chose to retain Abrar Ahmed (Platinum), Usman Tariq (Diamond), Hassan Nawaz (Gold), and Shamyl Hussain (Emerging). The franchise did not retain any player from the Silver category.
PSL 11 is being described as a historic season due to major changes in the squad-building process. For the first time in league history, teams will form their squads through an auction system, replacing the draft model used in previous seasons.
Retention rules have also been revised. In the first 10 PSL seasons, franchises were allowed to retain up to eight players. Under the updated PSL 11 framework, teams are now limited to retaining only four players across categories.
The upcoming season will also feature an expanded league format, with the tournament increasing from six to eight teams. Hyderabad and Sialkot Stallionz will join the competition as new franchises and make their debut in PSL 11.
The first-ever PSL player auction is scheduled for February 11. The PSL 11 season will begin on March 26 and run until May 3.
