The Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) has officially rolled out a new grading system for matriculation exams, marking a major shift in student assessment.
According to the board, the revised grading structure will be implemented from the ongoing academic year for Class 9 students, while Class 10 candidates will be assessed under the new system starting in 2027. The minimum passing requirement has been fixed at 40 percent.
As part of the changes, the traditional “fail” status has been replaced with a newly introduced “U grade.” Students achieving between 96 and 100 percent marks will receive an A++ grade, whereas those scoring below 40 percent will fall under the U category. Only students securing 40 percent or above will be declared successful.
The board has also decided to introduce a GPA system on an interim basis. Students who fail to meet the minimum criteria will be required to sit for supplementary examinations.

Funny
No grading system for the certain govt dept that takes most of our resources
No grading system for our ministers
But so many grading systems for our students and kids.

Nothing at all ,just trash ,koi acha kaam na kerna kabhi jiss we taleem ka mayar buland…..to kher tum kiya karo ge kamaskam barqaraar hi rakh Pete jes bhi tha. Bad to worse worst ….hota ja raha hai
Nice strategy, but, if thay are introducing those criteria thay must have to chnage the examination system if thay are converting in GPA thy must introduced semester system, so then students can easly get their GPA.
