Govt Housing Projects in Islamabad Face Delays

Housing projects launched by the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA), including Sky Gardens and Green Enclave in Bhara Kahu, continue to face delays, causing concern among allottees and members.

Official documents show Sky Gardens, launched under a joint venture agreement signed in October 2019, covers up to 11,000 kanals near Bhara Kahu and includes plans for over 5,700 residential plots.

Development progress has reached around 40% in Phase I and 42% in Phase II, while possession of 80 plots in Sector A was handed over in July 2025.

Blocks G and D are expected to be ready by March 2026.

Meanwhile, Green Enclave-I, launched in 2009, remains incomplete due to prolonged legal disputes and contractor issues, although negotiations are underway to restart development soon.

FGEHA spokesperson Faiz Ahmed Sial rejected claims of project delivery failures, stating that stalled schemes have recently regained momentum.

Contracts worth Rs19 billion have been awarded for infrastructure development in sectors F-14 and F-15, while planning continues for sectors F-12 and G-12.

Officials say work is progressing on Park Road housing, Chaklala Apartments, and Kashmir Heights projects, with further tenders expected soon to complete the remaining projects.
