Naseem Shah Joins New PSL Team for Rs. 8.65 Crore

Pakistan fast bowler Naseem Shah has been snapped up by the Rawalpindi franchise for Rs. 8.65 crore during the ongoing 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) player auction at Lahore’s Expo Center.

The 22-year-old pacer was among the most sought-after names in the fast-bowling category, with franchises bidding aggressively to secure a proven new-ball specialist.

Rawalpindi ultimately won the race, strengthening their pace attack with a bowler known for his ability to generate early breakthroughs and maintain control in high-pressure T20 situations.

Naseem’s addition signals Rawalpindi’s intent to build a bowling unit around express pace and local star power as teams continue reshaping their squads under PSL’s new auction-based system.

Naseem Shah is currently part of Pakistan squad for the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2026 in Sri Lanka and India.

The signing follows another major fast-bowling move in the auction, where Lahore Qalandars secured Haris Rauf for Rs. 7.60 crore after his standout performances in the 2025/26 Big Bash League (BBL 15).

Other big signings included Faheem Ashraf to Islamabad United, David Warner to Karachi Kings, and Rilee Roussow to Quetta Gladiators. Surprisingly, the latter did not bid for their ex-captain Saud Shakeel, who went unsold.
